Welcome to RideHome (the "Service," "Platform," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how NEXA SG PTE LTD (trading as RideHome) collects, uses, processes, and discloses your information, including personal information, in conjunction with your access to and use of the RideHome Platform and the Payment Services.
By using the RideHome Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described herein.
We collect three categories of information: (1) Information you give to us; (2) Information we automatically collect from your use of the RideHome Platform; and (3) Information we collect from third parties.
Account Information: When you sign up for a RideHome account, we require certain information such as your name, email address, mobile phone number, and password.
Profile Information: You may choose to provide additional information as part of your profile, such as a profile picture or saved addresses (e.g., Home, Work).
Payment Information: To use certain features of the RideHome Platform (such as booking a designated driver), we may require you to provide certain financial information (like your bank account or credit card information) in order to facilitate the processing of payments via Stripe.
Driver Application Information: If you apply to be a driver, we collect information including your driver's license, vehicle insurance details, and photo ID. For identity verification and background checks (to ensure public safety and comply with Land Transport Authority (LTA) expectations), we may also collect NRIC/FIN or Passport numbers from Drivers. You may be asked to consent to a criminal background check. We collect only the minimum information necessary for these purposes.
Communications: When you communicate with us or use the RideHome Platform to communicate with other members (e.g., in-app chat between driver and customer), we collect and store the content of these communications for safety, dispute resolution, and customer support purposes.
Location Information: This is a core feature of our Service. We collect your precise or approximate location information as determined through data such as GPS, IP address, and WiFi.
For Users: We collect location data when the app is running in the foreground or background (if permitted) to connect you with nearby drivers and track your ride.
For Drivers: We collect location data when the app is running in the foreground (app open and on-screen) or background (app open but not on-screen) of your device to dispatch rides and track trip progress.
SMS Data: We request permission to read SMS messages solely for the purpose of auto-filling One-Time Passwords (OTPs) during phone verification. We do not read or store your personal text messages.
Usage Information: We collect information about your interactions with the RideHome Platform such as the pages or content you view, your searches for bookings, and other actions on the RideHome Platform.
Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access the Platform, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
Our app requires specific permissions to function correctly:
Location: Used for matching drivers with users and tracking trips.
Bluetooth: Used to connect to peripheral devices (such as e-scooters) required for the service.
Camera/Photos: Used for updating profile pictures or scanning QR codes/documents.
SMS: Used for phone number verification (OTP).
Notifications: Used to send updates about your ride status, promotions, and account alerts.
For safety and evidence purposes, Drivers may use vehicle dashcams. While RideHome does not directly control these devices, we may request access to such recordings (with appropriate consent) to investigate accidents, disputes, or potential violations of our Terms and Conditions between Members.
We use, store, and process information, including personal information, to provide, understand, improve, and develop the RideHome Platform, create and maintain a trusted and safer environment, and comply with our legal obligations.
Provide the Services: To verify your identity, enable you to access the RideHome Platform, match you with drivers/users, process payments, and provide customer support.
Safety and Security: To detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity; to verify or authenticate information or identifications provided by you (such as ID verification for drivers).
Research and Development: To analyze data to better understand user behavior and improve our services (e.g., optimizing driver dispatch algorithms).
Communications: To send you promotional messages, marketing, advertising, and other information that may be of interest to you based on your preferences (subject to your consent where required by law). Your consent provided herein shall be deemed as "clear and unambiguous consent" in written form for the purposes of the Do Not Call (DNC) provisions under the PDPA. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time via the App settings or by contacting us.
To help facilitate bookings, we may share your information with other Members:
When you submit a booking request, certain information about you is shared with the Driver, including your first name, pickup location, and destination.
Upon booking confirmation, we will share your phone number with the Driver to facilitate communication.
For Drivers, we share your Name, Profile Photo, Rating, and Vehicle/License details with the User.
We use a variety of third-party service providers to help us provide services related to the RideHome Platform:
Stripe: For payment processing. Your payment data is handled securely by Stripe and is subject to their privacy policy.
Google Maps: For mapping and navigation services.
Firebase (Google): For authentication, database hosting, analytics, and crash reporting.
These third parties may be located outside Singapore. We take steps to ensure they provide a level of protection comparable to the PDPA.
We may disclose your information to courts, law enforcement, or governmental authorities, or authorized third parties, if and to the extent we are required or permitted to do so by law or if such disclosure is reasonably necessary to: (i) comply with our legal obligations; (ii) comply with legal process and to respond to claims asserted against RideHome; (iii) respond to verified requests relating to a criminal investigation or alleged or suspected illegal activity.
Your personal data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries outside of Singapore (e.g., where our service providers like Google Firebase or Stripe are located). We will ensure that such transfers comply with the requirements of the PDPA to provide a standard of protection comparable to that under the PDPA.
You may exercise any of the rights described in this section by contacting us. Please note that we may ask you to verify your identity before taking further action on your request.
Data Access and Portability: You may be entitled to request copies of your personal information held by us.
Data Erasure: You generally have the right to ask us to delete your personal information, subject to certain limitations (e.g., we may retain some information for legitimate business interests like fraud detection or to comply with legal obligations).
Correction: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal information we hold about you.
Withdrawing Consent: If we are processing your personal information based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by changing your account settings or contacting us. Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with our legal obligations (e.g., tax, audit, or LTA requirements), and resolve disputes. When no longer required, we will delete or anonymize your data in accordance with our internal retention schedules.
Retention of Data After Account Deletion: After your account is deleted, RideHome will delete or anonymize your personally identifiable data. However, please note that certain transaction data (such as trip history, payment records, and tax-related information) will be retained for up to 7 years to comply with Singapore's financial, tax, and regulatory requirements (e.g., IRAS and LTA audits).
We are continuously implementing and updating administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, or alteration. However, the Internet is not a 100% secure environment so we cannot guarantee the absolute security of the transmission or storage of your information.
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time in accordance with this provision. If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised Privacy Policy on the RideHome Platform and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
